New Years Eve is almost here. On New Years we reflect on the fun times, the bad times, the things you have accomplished, and the things you desire to accomplish in the coming year. There is normally a big party or just a simple get together to watch that ball drop in Times Square. You must enjoy those last couple hours till the start of a new year! So before you go out to party, here are just a couple of safety precautions to keep in mind.
1. Try not to make drinking the main focus of the party, or at least limit yourself to the amount you are going to drink.
2. Be sure to not serve alcohol to any minors, if you are not sure of the age then just ask for I.D.
3. Try to eat before you drink as to avoid the alcohol hitting you too fast.
4. If you plan on drinking and you need to get home, be sure to have a designated driver who can take you there.
5. If you are having a party at your house, try to keep those who drank at your house, as to avoid any accidents that could harm them and others.
6. Keep an eye on your drink at all times, as to avoid anyone slipping something into it.
7. If someone passes out from too much drinking, keep a check on his or hers condition, such as breathing, heart rate, and vomiting.
8. Know the signs of alcohol poisoning. Click here for symptoms.
9. No need to rush yourself while drinking, take your time, there is no rush. Rushing is how most people get sick.
10. If anybody you see has signs of being drugged or alcohol poisoning, call 9-1-1 immediately. The longer you wait the worse the condition will get.
