Today is the shortest day of the year, also known as the winter solstice. Winter solstice is a day which has the least amount of sunlight all day. After today, the days will start to get longer and longer until it averages out. The solstice also marks the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere, so put on your hat and gloves and enjoy the small amount of sunlight that today has to offer!
