This summer we are proud to say that  another one of our favorite interns returned to us to gain some more experience in not only the insurance world, but the world of business overall! O'Brien Quartuccio who is a 2011 graduate of Burlington County College and soon to be Seton Hall University graduate as of May 2013 has been working non-stop to try and apply all that he has learned about marketing from school over to business... and even visa versa!

Last Sunday there was an article in the Burlington County Times posted about AJM and the BCC Foundation! The article talks about how important internships are for not only students but for business leaders as well. Check out the article here.

We wanted to also put out a more in-depth Q&A post about how the summer internship experience has been for everyone at AJM this summer!

Left to right: Gordon Hudson, Tony Mahon, O'Brien Quartuccio

How has the internship experience been this summer ?

O'Brien: "In school you are always looking at a book or hearing how marketing should be done in this day and age. This internship has allowed me to literally take everything that I crammed into my head since my last internship here and really put it to work. The concept of a marketing student like myself being forced to deal with real-world marketing costs is what at the end of the day teaches students. Tony Mahon, Gordon Hudson, and the rest of AJM Insurance have always treated me like family and I wouldn't want it any other way!"

Tony: "O'Brien definitely shows that he has gained both the skills and mentality of a business professional while being with us. I was a college student standing in the same shoes that he was at my age. I completely understand how tough it is for a college student to get his or her foot into the door and that is why we enjoy and really utilize the time that we have with our interns. We want to make sure that they have had a great learning experience here so that they will be one step ahead of everyone else out in the business world."

Gordon: "When O'Brien first came here back in 2010 he was still brand new to college. Now this is his second time back for a summer internship and to see him grow his business skills and marketing skills is amazing. Every job I throw at him gets done with high quality and his own personal touch which makes his work different and unique to us... especially being in the insurance business. Bringing interns in is probably one of the best things we have done. I feel like we are the lucky ones because not only do they grow but we grow with them as well.  For example, perhaps some of us aren't up on some form of technology, then O'Brien or another intern is there to help and give their insight and help us out. Having a set of eyes outside of the box is incredibly helpful in keeping us up on our "A" game. I know that this student has a bright future ahead of him and I am glad to say that I was someone who had the chance to help pave the way for him!"
