PSE&G Solar Panel Plan In N.J.
As many of our New Jersey residents have noticed, more and more solar panels are starting to be installed on telephone poles at a very fast rate. The Public Service Electric & Gas Company has been attaching solar panels to streetlights and utility poles which will generate clean and natural energy. It was said by Eileen Leahey, the manager of PSE&G, “One solar panel will generate 200 watts of power during the summer at peak time, however, financially there will be little to no impact”. Petra Solar and AC Electric teamed up to install the solar panels on all of the utility poles that you have seen recently. This new program has brought New Jersey one step closer to being more eco-friendly than before.
The panels are placed 18ft high on each pole and are made to be shatter proof as well as weather proof which makes the replacement of these panels incredibly low.
